Privacy Policy
How SlabValue handles your collection data, your scanned photos and your payment information.
Last updated 10 October 2026
The short version
SlabValue tells you what trading cards are worth. To do that we keep a small amount of information about you: the account you signed in with, the cards you save, and the alerts you set.
We do not sell your data, and we never see your card number. Payments are handled end to end by Base44 Payments, our payment provider.
What we collect
- Account details: your email address and the name on your account, supplied when you sign up or sign in with Google. These identify your account and let us email you alerts.
- Collection and watchlist: the cards you save, their grade, quantity and the price you paid if you choose to enter it. These are stored against your account so they are there when you come back.
- Price alerts: the card, your target price, the direction of the alert and your email address, so the alert can be delivered and so you can see which alerts are active.
- Scanned photos: a photo you submit on the Scan page is sent to our card identification service to work out which card it is. It is used to answer that one scan and to keep a log of which cards are being scanned, which is how the rarest scans of the month are featured.
- Feedback you send: whatever you write in the feedback form, plus the reply address you give, so we can respond.
- Basic usage information: which screens are opened and which features are used, in aggregate, so we can tell what is working.
Payment information
Pro subscriptions are billed by Base44 Payments. When you start a subscription you are taken to a secure checkout page hosted by the payment provider, where your card details and billing address are entered.
Your card number, security code and full billing details never reach SlabValue and are not stored by us. What we receive back is the outcome of the purchase: whether it succeeded, the amount and currency charged, an order or subscription reference, and the email address on the purchase, so we can turn Pro on for the right account and keep the subscription working.
Cancelling and renewing are handled by the same provider. If you cancel, your Pro features stay on until the end of the period you have already paid for.
How we use what we hold
- To run the app: show your collection, your watchlist and your alerts, and calculate estimated values.
- To send the emails you asked for, such as a price alert reaching its target.
- To keep your subscription working and to know whether your account should have Pro features.
- To spot problems, fix errors and understand which parts of the app are useful.
Sharing
We share data only with the services that make the app work: the card market data provider that supplies prices, the card identification service that reads scanned photos, and the payment provider that processes subscriptions. Each of them receives only what it needs for its job.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not hand it to advertisers. Ads shown in the free tier are served without your collection or account details.
Keeping it safe
Your data is held in the app's own secured database. Records are tied to your account and are only readable by you and by the app administrators who run the service. Payment data lives with the payment provider, inside their security and compliance programme, rather than in our database.
How long we keep it, and how to remove it
Your collection, watchlist and alerts stay while your account is open. Scanned card logs are kept in aggregate so the trending data stays meaningful.
You can delete your account from the bottom of the Settings page. That files a deletion request for the email on your account, and your collection, watchlist and alerts are removed with it. You can also write to us through the feedback form to ask what we hold or to have it corrected or erased.
Children
SlabValue is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
Changes to this policy
If how we handle data changes, this page is updated and the date below changes with it. Continuing to use the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
Contact
Questions about privacy, or a request about your data, can be sent through the feedback form in Settings. We aim to answer within a few business days.
